Shipping & Operations Co-ordinator

  • Circa 25 hours per week across 5 days
  • Career building opportunity
  • Pension and life assurance scheme amongst other benefits

This is not a desk job where you do the same task all day. It’s a role where you keep the business moving, and where goods, paperwork and people all end up in the right place at the right time.

Our client is a manufacturer of scientific equipment, serving customers around the world. They are looking for a Business Operations Co-ordinator to take charge of shipping and logistics and to support the wider running of the site.

You’ll be the link between Planning, Purchasing and Production, making sure customer orders leave on time and in line with promise dates. You’ll also look after the less visible side of the business: the facilities, health and safety admin and general office running that keep it working smoothly.
You’ll be proactive, practical and adaptable, with sound judgement and discretion, and you’ll know when to escalate. There’s plenty of room to learn and take on more over time. It’s a role that rewards people who are organised, notice the details, and enjoy making things simpler and better.

You will be responsible for the following:

  • Shipping goods globally, handling customs invoices, packing lists, crate labels, and logistics partners.
  • Manage global customer returns, including documents for customs clearance and returns paperwork.
  • Reconcile freight invoices, import/export taxes, and VAT with the Accounts Department.
  • Provide administrative support of health & safety, facilities management and general office administration
  • Spotting ways to simplify processes, improve handovers and tighten controls

The Candidate: Logistics Administrator

  • Previous experience handling the import and export of goods
  • Experience in an administrative role and comfortable handling lots of information.
  • Experience working across departments and managing competing priorities
  • Confidence communicating with customers, suppliers and colleagues by phone and email
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail, with good follow-through

Location: Berkshire | Salary: £28000 - £32000 per year, pro rata (£18600 - £21300 per year) | Job type: Permanent | Posted: 28/10/2026
